This 69 Camaro recently has been transplanted with a 1999 Corvette Computer Controlled Fuel Injected LS1 engine and a four speed overdrive automatic 4L60E transmission. This is the best running 69 Camaro Ive owned and I’ve had more than 6 in my life. The car behaves like a modern car… starts on first turn in cold weather, has great gas mileage, more power through the entire rev cycle, never overheats, no changes in performance due to altitude. I read once,”it is like having a mechanic under the hood constantly tuning your car for the current conditions”. Of course most of you already have modern cars controlled by computers and take these conveniences for granted as did I until I bought my first classic car. Since I started riving in the 70′s, it all started coming back to me when I drove my first 60′s car in 30 years. I like this setup so much that I recreated it in my favorite 69 Camaro Convertible. This is the reason I’m selling the car. It gets over 20mpg and can go 0-60 as fast as a Vette. The LS1 transplant alone was over 000 including all the changes. The receipt is available for inspection. Swap Details: The complete professional conversion was performed by the award winning Car And Truck Pro out of Auburn, California. The rear end is a 10 bolt with highway gears. The Corvette LS1 is controlled through the stock Delco computer which has been reprogrammed by Car and Truck Pro. The engine has Corvette headers leading to dual Flomaster exhaust. The gas tank is …

. Car – 2008 Mazdaspeed3 Mazdaspeed CAI Dunlop Z1 Star Specs RX8 Wheels Koni FSDs Stock everything else! Memorial Day Weekend driving on Calaveras Road in Northern California… BMW 335i pulls out in front and was driving enthusiastically down this sweet road. I decided to join in and thought we were having a great time until I get a nice little brake check. Once we got to a complete stop the BMW driver got out and had some nice and wonderful things to say. The driving part is somewhat boring. We didn’t even make it to the twisty bits yet. The commentary on the other hand… thats exciting! I’m still not sure why he was so angry… 1.) I gave him plenty of room and was not tailgating him… 2.) I figure if he didn’t want to drive quickly down the road, he wouldn’t have driven quickly to begin with. (Even then, we weren’t even going that fast…) 3.) If he just wanted me to go around, he would have pulled off and let me pass? 4.) Maybe he was upset that his BMW couldn’t pull away from a ‘little shitbox’? 5) Perhaps Bad BBQ bean for Memorial Day? 6.) Standard behavior from a BMW owner? (Haha, I’m kidding! I love Bimmers!) No hard feelings my friend… that BMW is a sweet ride!

Road Tripping Through The Hill Tribe Towns Of Vietnam’s Central Highlands

Despite breathtaking mountain scenery and a rich diversity of hill tribe cultures, Vietnam’s Central Highlands remain one of the least ‘tourorized’ areas of Southeast Asia. This region of pine tree forests, waterfalls and coffee plantations is far from the coastal beach resorts where most tourists flock, and this remoteness is all part of the charm.

The narrow, winding roads of the highlands are strewn with potholes, some so deep and wide it appears as if elephants were dropped on the tarmac successively from various heights in some grotesque experiment. An equally poor bus system and lack of railways make exploration by more maneuverable motorbikes the best option.

Venturing Inland
This adventure starts in the coastal town of Phan Thiet, though the mountains can be approached from any adjacent city between Ho Chi Minh in the south and Danang on the central coast. The road from Phan Thiet winds through Hindu Cham villages and mountain rainforests before arriving in the town of Dalat.

The K’ho of Dalat
Dr Alexandre Yersin (the noted explorer and scientist who discovered the cause of the bubonic plague) is traditionally considered the founder of the Dalat. The hill station, sanatorium and eventual resorts that developed more than 100 years ago have blessed Vietnam with one of the finest concentrations of French Colonial architecture in Indochina.

The city was named after the Lat clan, a subgroup of the K’ho tribe who inhabit much of Lam Dong Province. Though the K’ho have been assimilated by the dominant Vietnamese culture of modern Dalat, their bamboo stilt houses with thatched roofs can still be seen dotting hillsides in remote areas.

The entire K’ho family, including grandparents and extended family, all sleep together in a single-room nha sang, or stilt house. Cooking is done directly on the floor, without benefit of a chimney. The smoke preserves the structure and repels insects.

An Ede girl in traditional dress weaves textiles in her shop in Dak Lak Province. The M’Nong of Lak Lake

A day’s motorbike journey from Dalat will reach Lak Lake; the lake’s shores are inhabited by displaced members of the M’nong tribe, relocated here from the north by the government. On my road trip, I spent the night in immense, wooden M’Nong longhouses. After a morning of elephant rides and canoe trips I drove to Ede territory in Dak Lak Province.

The Ede of Buon Ma Thuat
The Provincial capital of Buon Ma Thuat is the seat of Vietnam’s coffee-growing empire, its capacity now second only to Brazil. Due to tensions between the government and local hill tribes, the ability to travel without special permits can be restrictive. Travellers can be expected to only be allowed to travel between Buon Mat Thuat, which has a few major waterfalls like Drey Sap and Drey Nur, and Yuk Don National Park.

The Jai Rai of Pleiku
Heading north through Gia Lai Province traverses the territory of the Jai Rai, famous for their elaborate wooden funeral houses guarded by erotic totems. The capital city of Pleiku was an infamous battleground in the war with America. Politics in the area is complicated, and hiring a government-licensed guide is required to visit Jai Rai villages and nearby waterfalls, though travellers are free to visit the flooded volcanic crater known as Ho Bien on their own.

The Bahnar of Kon Tum
Just a few hours further to the North, the city of Kon Tum, and the surrounding province by the same name, holds the greatest cultural treasures of the central highlands. The town is populated by ethnic Bahnar, most differentiated from Vietnam’s other minority groups by the thatched communal lodges that tower above the villages surrounding the city. Like many hill tribes however, common cultural icons include musical gongs, “buffalo stabbing festivals” and ruou can (rice wine brewed in large ceramic vases.)

Out to the Coast
The final leg of the journey has almost as many options as the beginning. Roads lead north to Danang via the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail, or out to coastal towns like Hoi An or Qui Nhon. I chose a remote route to Quang Ngai through villages of the indigo-clothed H’re, then loaded my motorbike on a train back to Phan Thiet.

Driving logistics
According to Vietnamese law, all foreign drivers must possess a Vietnamese driver’s license. Vietnam does not honor International Driving Permits, despite persistent claims by the agencies that issue them. Applicants need a driving license from their home country with a motorcycle endorsement, a translated and notarized copy, a validation form from the applicable embassy, a local health exam, and must pay a small fee at a Vietnam Department of Transportation branch in any city.

The process will take a minimum of one week. Without a prior motorcycle endorsement applicants must take a simple driving test, which could add a delay of several weeks. In truth, most foreign drivers do not have Vietnamese licenses and traffic police in the Central Highlands have regularly chosen not to enforce this regulation.

Motorbikes can be rented from many tour offices and guesthouses for US – US per day. Multi-day trips may require a deposit equal to the value of the motorbike.

We all know that Evenflo is the name when looking for a convertible car seat for your kid. Evenflo is an important name in the children accessory industry, so you won’t have to worry about your children’s safety while going on a trip.

The Tribute is one of the three series of convertible car seats at Evenflo. Choosing an Evenflo Tribute convertible car seat is the right thing to do. All Evenflo car seats are designed by the best engineers and also they are rigorously tested for different kinds of impact.

If you want to be sure that your child is safe, you will have to install the car seat correctly. It is recommended to go to a specialist to do that, but if you don’t have the time, here are some simple tricks to help you.

Be sure to install the Evenflo Tribute Convertible Car Seat away from any airbags. Place the chair in the middle of the back seat. This is also useful as you can see your kid in the rearview mirror.

First you will have to decide what position you want for your seat. You can install it forward or rear-facing position. Be sure that your car seat fits in your car in both positions.

Fasten the seat in your car as tightly as you can. Apply force on the belt if necessary. Be sure that your car seat doesn’t move more that an inch from the initial position.

Put your baby in the Evenflo Tribute Convertible Car Seat to see how he accommodates with it. It the child is too small for the chair, be sure to buy a cushiony liner which is designed for this purpose.

You will need to adjust the height of your chair as the baby grows. Don’t worry, as the Evenflo chairs are designed to be used for any kid. You won’t have to worry about buying a new chair ever again.

If you install your seat forward facing, be sure to use the tether strap. Attach the strap with the hook as specified by the Evenflo manual. Be sure to use all the anchorage points to hold the chair. Use the safety seat’s harness correctly. Ensure that they pass trough the correct slots. The Evenflo manual has all the details you need to do that correctly.

Put your child into the chair. Ask him if he is comfortable. Be sure to adjust the chest clip on the harness.

You need to be a step ahead in making an informed choice. Now you must be wondering how to do that? Well it is real easy! You just need to launch your favorite search engine and look up for review sites that talk about these car seats. Once you go through few reviews, you will understand why this product is a rage among its clientele. But when you do that, you need to be able to tell an honest review site from a biased one!

Automakers look forward to showcasing the best in the luxury vehicle segment. Hence, every year, they bare their most precious luxurious masterpieces to compete with other car makers. Earlier, ForbesAutos.com set forth the most extreme luxury sedans on the road. These sedans brag about their outrageous power and exquisitely laid lavishness.

Five years ago, the trend includes luxury sedans that produce 400 horsepower. Now, automakers like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are introducing luxury sedans that have engine units which can produce as much as 600 units of horsepower.

“These are Ferraris with four doors and a trunk,” said a former automotive financial analyst, Joseph Phillippi. “The appeal is the exclusivity they offer, the ‘I’m rich enough to afford one’ statement the car makes, albeit quietly. Clearly these cars are putting more horsepower to the ground than one would ever think was normal for a luxury sedan.” These state-of-the-art and costly super sedans are inspired by popular models that bear sophisticated engine, suspension and transmission technology.

Gone are the days when so-so amenities, typical accessories, Geo cold air intake, rotors, brakes and other auto parts and car systems could storm around the industry. The trend now is probing the needs and demands of consumers and then applying expertise to pave way for a desirable car. Style, performance and price are now delivered with the customers first in mind. “I’m sure there are buyers who are clueless, simply spending money because they have a lot of it,” Phillippi said. “But most of the people who buy these know all about the car — maybe even know how to drive it well.”

Most luxurious luxury sedans keep away from the looks of some gaudy sports cars with large wings, distasteful scoops and noisy exhaust systems. The supercharged V12 badge, lowered stance, flashier wheels and discreet tires make a well accented difference.

“You’re not looking to impress Joe Six-Pack,” said automotive publicist and consultant Martyn Schorr. “It’s the aficionados who are impressed — and valets. Valets are used to seeing luxury cars, but they’re impressed when they see a Mercedes AMG or BMW M logo.” The difference between ordinary and superlative sedans is often subtle that an average driver could not easily distinguish. A typical A4 is almost similar to the hot-rod RS 4; the equally-captivating Jaguar XJ8 could not be easily distinguished from the ferocious XJR. “The sedans are stealthy, so you can be a performance loony and not look bad in your neighborhood,” Phillippi said.

Schorr added, “These sedans work as everyday family vehicles yet deliver performance that was, until recently, reserved for truly high-performance sports cars. And you can go anywhere and park one. It’s just a sedan. It doesn’t attract the attention a Ferrari does. They’re invisible to all but knowledgeable people.”

Analysts said that the plus factor of super sedans is the fact that they ask no compromise. They feature extra trunk space, comfy seats, and ideal handling and drive. It set of snow tires could make it a fascinating year-round cars. These and more are the reasons why the market for extreme luxury sedans is booming.

Other reasons for the super sedan fanaticism include the fact that they are arguably safer, high-performing, and tend to be bought by more responsible drivers. According to Schorr, people who already own one or more sports cars or those who truly appreciate high performance and feel they can’t be without it in their daily driver, are the usual purchasers of super sedans. “The people who own these cars don’t go nuts with them,” Schorr said. “It doesn’t matter that they have 500 hp. They’re responsible individuals, they paid a lot of money for them, they transport families and business associates, they’re more likely to stay out of trouble than are people who get behind the wheel of something red with two seats and very high horsepower.”

“More and more people have the money,” Schorr added. “The difference in price between it and the conventional model doesn’t mean much to them. These people also tend to be fickle. Before the car is one or at most two years old, it’s sold and they buy another one, so there’s a constant, evolving market for them.”
